Period 3

Answer the following questions: Comparing Ancient Mesopotamia to modern day New Guinea

Past vs Present
End of the Stone Age in Mesopotamia, but not in the rest of the world.
·      Why do you think the people of New Guinea never grew out of the New Stone Age?
·      Were their farming skills and technology enough to keep them alive?  How do you know?
·      Why did the coastal people come in contact with Europeans first?
·      Why are there still groups that have not been discovered?
·      Why were Europeans in New Guinea to begin with?

Enjoy your weekend and good luck to all of our athletes particpating in contests.  Please email me with questions.  Go Panthers!

  1. Mr.Parson do we finish the chart and do an extended response paper for humanities?

  2. The chart is a tool to help you organize your thoughts and sentences. You do not need to finish that graphic organizer. I would recommend doing it so you have an outline and an easy to follow order for your essay. That way you can answer he questions in the correct order and it has a nice flow to it when myself or someone else would read it. Let me know if that answers your question.

  4. No, you do not need to do a chart nor an outline. Those are "tools" you can use to help you write the response. The idea is to put all of your thoughts in order before you write. The graphic organizer or the outline are your tools.
